Ultimate Frisbee Injuries

Goals of this research project:
- Determine what injuries occur while playing ultimate frisbee.
- Investigate common causes of injuries in ultimate frisbee
- Determine what type of evaluations and treatments ultimate injuries receive
- From the data, recommend modifications if indicated to prevent future injuries
Participation requirements In order to participate in this study, you need to spend a minimum of 15 hours playing/practicing ultimate frisbee during one of the group periods in the 2004 season.
- Group 1: March29-May 30 (9 weeks)
- Group 2 May 31-August 29 (13 weeks)
- Group 3 August 30-October 31(9 weeks)
All skill levels and individuals over 18 are welcome to participate. You are welcome to participate in any or all of the groups.
Participants also need to have access to the internet and an E-mail account.
Participants need to fill out an entrance questionnaire with contact information as well as a brief health history.
Participants need to fill out an activity log reporting the number of hours they spent playing and practicing. An email reminder will be sent weekly.
If a player was injured, they need to report the information through an online form.
Privacy All information obtained in the study will be kept confidential. No personal reference will be made to anyone participating in the study. Each participant will be assigned a unique identification number to
ensure privacy. No information will be released regarding personal health status or injury. Information obtained will not be used for any marketing purposes.
Data submitted on the web site is protected with 128-bit encryption.
Withdrawal Policy Your participation in this study is voluntary. You may withdraw from the program at any time without consequence. If you would like to withdraw, simply send an E-mail to drdoug@sportsdc.net and indicate you would no longer like to participate in the study.
